The Resort Village of Kivimaa–Moonlight Bay is a small resort community located on the west side of Turtle Lake. Nearby communities include Livelong (20 mins), Turtleford (30 mins), Glaslyn (30 mins) and St. Walburg (40 mins). Kivimaa–Moonlight Bay is home to about 80 permanent residents, with close to 240 cabins and over 300 lots.

Swimming, fishing, boating and hiking are just a few of the activities that residents and visitors can enjoy. Unfortunately, there are no camping facilities in the resort village, but two public beaches, two boat launches and playground facilities are available for visitors.











          Property Owner’s are 100% responsible to ensure false alarms from their                  property security systems are prevented. This starts with installing and                       maintaining your system to manufactures specifications.

         False alarms resulting in the dispatch of RVKMB Volunteer Fire Services                  will result in a charge of  $ 400.00 per occurrence to the property owner.


           We would like to thank Carey Herner and his crew for cleaning

          up the Moonlight Bay park. These guys have cleaned this park

for the last number of years.

Fireworks at Moonlight Bay September long weekend

Thanks to Ed and Sue Gulliver, Clint and Tammy Hemsley, Scott and Evelyn Fiske, Mike and Agnes Gooch for the fireworks display.  Tammy Hemsley will organize next year’s July long weekend fireworks.  Contact Tammy at (780)808-9712 to donate.


Please be advised there is no grace period for tax payments received after the last Wednesday of the month.

If you are making a tax payment which is time sensitive i.e. (Sept 30th – the cut off date to receive the full 15% discount)  or if you are paying arrears on which penalties are calculated on the 1st day of every month , please ensure that your payment is either in our hands (cheque or cash) or in the case of an etransfer, emailed to the Village by 4 pm on the last Wednesday of the month.

Post- dated cheques are accepted. There is also a mail slot at the Village Office.

The Village also accepts e-Transfers for payments.  If sending an e-Transfer,

please ensure you include to what payment is for taxes, building permit.

This year’s event(July 1st, Canada Day), which will be on Sunday June 30th, and it is requesting volunteer assistance to relieve its small workforce. If you can help with an hour or two of service please contact the office. The Dunk Tank will be available for rent at a cost of $100.

Rivers West DSCR Inc. has donated $500 to our 2018 Picnic in the Park program

The Picnic in the Park has helped us purchase playground equipment, swimming docks, swim area buoys, fire truck, and new fire

hall and our Mini Golf.

RV Storage Compound
Located at the East edge of the village in MR6. Spaces are available for residents at a rate of $200/yr for a single lot. Pontoon boats require double lots and the cost is $400/yr.
*Please Note the compound has been expanded and new sites are available.
Water Supply
The village now has a year round well  from which potable water can be hauled.
